Parents Without Partners Inc. is the largest, non-profit, volunteer organization dedicated to the welfare of today’s single parents and their children. The group was founded in 1957 in New York City. The Toronto Chapter was first chartered on January 11, 1975, and has been an active part of the Parents Without Partners international movement since. All programs, services, and events offered by PWP Toronto are run by volunteers who are also single parents and members of the chapter. As of September 2007, our membership included 234 single parents and their children.

We work for single parents by providing an environment for mutual support, friendship and the exchange of information. Each weekend the Chapter organizes activities for single parent families in three distinct program areas: family and youth activites, parent social activities and educational meetings.

We are here to help single parents help themselves. We provide you with the opportunity to join with other people who have worked through or are going through some of the same challenges you are facing. You can gain a new perspective on yourself as you discover you are not alone. We understand what you are going through. PWP has been a turning point for many single parents in re-establishing a meaningful life for themselves and their children. Our members can share their experiences with you, help you adjust and rediscover the confidence you may have lost. PWP is about new friends and new beginnings.
